1. Install and approve billing
- Install Zevron from its Shopify App Store listing (or the install link we sent you). Shopify shows which store data Zevron asks to read; click Install.
- Shopify then asks you to approve Zevron’s usage charges. There is no monthly fee: Zevron charges 15% of each chargeback we win for you, and your first 25 disputes are free. Shopify caps what Zevron can charge at $1,000 every 30 days unless you change it. Click Approve.
- You land on Zevron inside your Shopify admin. Disputes that are already open are read in the background, so they can take a few minutes to appear.
Everything Zevron charges goes on your Shopify bill as usage charges. If a fee can’t go on the bill yet (you haven’t approved billing, or the 30-day limit is reached), it waits and is added once Shopify allows it. We never charge it anywhere else. Prices are on our pricing page.
2. Your spending limit
Shopify stops app charges at the spending limit you approved. Your Zevron billing page says when the limit is reached and how much is waiting. To raise it:
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Apps, and click Zevron. Under Billing and usage charges, click Usage charges, enter a new app spending limit, tick the box to confirm, and click Set limit.
Fees that were waiting go on your bill shortly after. Steps from Shopify’s Help Center: Managing apps.
3. When a dispute opens
Shopify tells Zevron as soon as a Shopify Payments dispute opens. You don’t need to do anything. Zevron then:
- reads the order, its delivery tracking, the customer’s subscription and earlier orders, and anything else you connected;
- drafts a response in which every claim cites one of those records, with an exhibit PDF of the records;
- checks every claim against its source before anything is filed;
- adds the response and the exhibit PDF to the dispute in Shopify, before the evidence deadline.
Shopify sends the saved response to the card network on the due date. If you want it sent sooner, open the order in your Shopify admin, click Add evidence on the chargeback banner, then Submit now. Once it is submitted, nobody can change it.
Until Shopify gives Zevron its dispute-evidence permission (Shopify grants it app by app), Zevron can’t add the response for you. The case shows “Ready to file” with the response and the exhibit PDF. Copy them into the dispute yourself: in your Shopify admin, open the order, click Add evidence on the chargeback banner, paste the response, upload the PDF and save. Then tell us on the case or by email, and we mark it filed. We never mark a case filed that Shopify didn’t receive.
Every case in Zevron shows the response, the exhibits, what happened and when, and the outcome once the bank decides (usually 30 to 75 days later).
4. Autopilot or manual mode
Autopilot is the default. A response that passes every check is filed without waiting for anyone. A person on our team reviews any response the checks flag, your first 3 cases, fraud claims over $150, about 1 in 10 other cases as a quality check, and kinds of dispute that haven’t proven themselves yet.
Manual mode asks you to OK each response before it is filed. You choose how long we wait for you: 12, 24 or 48 hours. If you don’t answer in time, the response is filed, so a deadline is never missed.
Switch between them under Filing mode on Zevron’s home page, or in Settings, Approvals and automation. You can also ask us to hold a dispute or not contest it.
5. Refunds and order permissions
At install, Zevron asks only to read orders, customers and disputes. Permission to edit orders is optional, and Zevron asks for it inside the app only when a feature you use needs it. Shopify shows you exactly what it allows before you agree. With it, Zevron can:
- refund an order when a pre-dispute alert says a chargeback is coming and your alert rules say a refund is cheaper than fighting it;
- add its fraud-risk assessment, and a tag if you choose, to new orders (see below).
Without it, Zevron only reads your orders: alerts wait for you to refund by hand, and risk scores stay in Zevron. To take the permission back, email us, or uninstall Zevron, which removes all of its access.
6. Order risk checks
Zevron reads each new order and scores its fraud risk against your store’s own history. If you have given Zevron permission to edit orders, it adds that risk assessment (and a tag, if you choose) to the order in your Shopify admin. A score is advice: Zevron doesn’t cancel or hold an order because of it. You can turn order risk checks off in Zevron’s settings.
7. Your customers' data, and uninstalling
While Zevron is installed, your customers’ details are kept only as long as they are needed:
- 365 days after a dispute closes, we remove the customer’s name, email, evidence, uploaded documents and draft text from it, and the case shows the date. The amount, reason, outcome and fee stay for your invoices and results. Open disputes are never touched.
- Other customer data (alerts, order risk checks, failed payments and the rest) has its own period, listed in our Privacy Policy.
- When a customer asks your store to delete their data, Shopify tells us and we remove it from every case the same way.
To uninstall: in your Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Apps. Next to Zevron, open the menu, click Uninstall, then confirm.
- Zevron stops at once: it no longer reads your store, files responses or charges you. Responses already saved to a dispute stay with Shopify.
- 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify asks us to delete your store’s data, and we delete everything we hold for it.
- Want a copy first? Download everything from Your account in Zevron before you uninstall.
- If you reinstall later, Shopify asks you to approve billing again. Fees for wins that Shopify hadn’t charged before you left go on your bill once you approve.
Details are in our Privacy Policy and DPA.
8. Get help
Email hello@zevron.ai with your store’s myshopify.com address and, for a dispute, the order number. A person on our team answers. For a question about one dispute, you can also write on that case in Zevron.
