For subscription brands
Keep the revenue your subscriptions already earned.
Failed renewals, “I forgot I subscribed” disputes and auto-renewal rules each take money from a subscription brand. Zevron handles all three from one account, and you pay out of what comes back.
First 25 disputes free · 15% of disputes won · 12% of failed payments recovered · nothing when we lose
Three ways a subscription leaks.
Each one is money a customer meant to pay, or a rule you can be held to. Here is what each costs, and what Zevron does about it.
Renewals that fail
A card expires or a bank declines a renewal, and a customer who meant to stay is gone without deciding to leave.
Paddle puts this involuntary churn at 20–40% of all subscription churn. Recurly puts it at about 1.25% a month across its network.
Vendor figures, as Chargeflow cites them, read 25 October 2026. They are not Zevron's measurements. Chargeflow, “What is involuntary churn”
What Zevron does
Failed-payment recovery reads each failure from Stripe Billing, Braintree, Adyen, PayPal Subscriptions, Recharge, Skio, Smartrr, Loop, Chargebee and Recurly, sorts it by why the bank declined, never retries a decline the bank calls final, keeps retries inside Visa's and Mastercard's limits, and emails the customer a link to your billing platform's own card-update page. Zevron never sees a card number.
Billing platforms we read“I forgot I subscribed”
A customer who forgot a renewal can dispute it with their bank instead of asking you for a refund. The payment is taken back while the bank decides, your processor may charge a dispute fee, and the dispute counts toward your dispute ratio.
What Zevron does
We answer each dispute with your terms, the renewal reminder, the cancellation log and the customer's use after the renewal, every claim tied to its record, and a person checks anything unusual. In the app, renewal reminders with a one-click cancel link give a customer who forgot a way out before the charge.
How renewal disputes are wonAuto-renewal rules
The FTC's click-to-cancel rule was vacated in July 2025, so state and city laws set the bar: California's online-cancellation requirement (July 2025), New York State's (November 2025), New York City's rule (1 October 2026) and Louisiana's (2026).
Dates from law-firm summaries.
Read 25 October 2026. Summaries, not the statutes: read the law itself, or ask your lawyer, before relying on any requirement. Nothing here is legal advice. Loeb & Loeb on New York City's rule · Kelley Drye, summer 2026 auto-renewal roundup · Shook, Hardy & Bacon on New York City
What Zevron does
The auto-renewal scan reads your public sign-up, pricing, terms and cancel pages against Visa's and Mastercard's rules and the state laws in its catalog, quotes the text behind each finding, and gives you a PDF for your lawyer. A risk checklist, never legal advice.
What the scan checks
Revenue protection, in four lines.
No new prices: each part costs what it costs on its own. Together they cover the three leaks above, plus a fraud check on every new Shopify order.
- Chargebacks
- 15% of each dispute we win
- Your first 25 disputes are free. Nothing when we lose.
- Failed-payment recovery
- 12% of what we recover
- On Stripe, only on what we recover above a comparison group: 15% of your customers get nothing from us, so you never pay for what Stripe would have collected anyway.
- Order risk checks
- Included with chargebacks
- A fraud score on every new Shopify order before it ships, with what to check.
- Auto-renewal scan
- Free your first scan
- Your first scan runs in a 14-day free trial: cancel before it ends and it costs nothing. Monthly re-scans after that are from $99 a month, only if you keep them.
One monthly invoice, or your Shopify bill. No setup fee, no minimum, no contract.
Put your numbers in.
Three numbers you already know. The result is an estimate, and every rate behind it is printed underneath, with whose figure it is.
- Disputes won back
- $413 · $62 fee at 15%
- Failed payments recovered
- $417 · $50 fee at 12%
How it’s worked out
- Disputes won: Half. An assumption. What a store wins depends on its dispute reasons and its evidence.
- MRR lost to failed payments: 1.25% a month. Recurly's network average for involuntary churn, as Chargeflow cites it: a vendor's figure, not ours.
- Of that, recovered: A third. An assumption we plan with, not a measured rate.
- Free disputes: First 25. Left out: this is a typical month after them.
- On Stripe the recovery fee is only on what’s recovered above a comparison group, so it can be lower.

Do I have to take all four?
No. Chargebacks start when you connect payments. Recovery, order risk checks and the scan each have their own switch in the app, and each can be turned off on its own.
Is recovery on from the start?
When we can read what bills your renewals, it is ticked in setup with its price beside it, and goes on when you continue. Untick it and it stays off; you can turn it on later from Home or Settings.
How is recovery billed on Stripe?
Stripe already retries failed payments, so we charge only for what we add. 15% of your customers are held out as a comparison group and get nothing from us; we bill 12% of what the rest recover above that group's rate. Nothing is billed until each group has 30 failed payments watched for 30 days. On every other platform it is 12% of each payment recovered after one of our messages.
Will my customers get two emails?
If your subscription app or Stripe also emails customers when a payment fails, yes, until you turn one off. Our wording and timing are yours to edit in Settings, Customer messages, and text messages go only to customers who agreed to them.
What does it cost if nothing comes back?
Nothing. Your first 25 disputes are free, a lost dispute costs nothing, recovery is a share of payments that come back and order risk checks are included. The first scan runs in a free trial: cancel it before the trial ends and the scan costs nothing too.
Is the scan legal advice?
No. It is a risk checklist made by software from your public pages and your own answers. Its rules have not been reviewed by a lawyer yet, and every result says so.
