What goes into the number
Three costs: the revenue you lose when a dispute is lost, the fee your processor charges per dispute whether or not you win, and the time someone spends pulling the order, reminders, cancellation log and delivery record to answer each one.
The first figure assumes every dispute is lost, which is the worst case. The second applies the share you say you could win back and takes our success fee out of the dollars recovered.
What this leaves out
It doesn’t count the effect of disputes on your dispute ratio, the cost of losing the customer, or any processor penalties above a threshold. Those make the real cost higher.
The win share is your assumption, not a prediction. It depends on your evidence and the mix of dispute types: subscription disputes with consent, a reminder and a clean cancellation log are the most winnable.
Questions
What is a typical dispute fee?
Many processors charge a flat fee per dispute, whether or not you win. The default here is $15; check your processor’s current terms and enter yours.
Does Zevron charge the dispute fee?
No. The dispute fee is your processor’s. Zevron takes a share of what it recovers and nothing on losses. See pricing.
How long does it take to answer a dispute by hand?
Often 30 to 60 minutes once the records are spread across a store, a subscription app, a helpdesk and an email tool. Enter your own number. See where your evidence lives.
