Chargeback evidence checklist

Choose the type of dispute and what you sell. Get the exact records to gather, where each one lives, and the order to argue it in. Copy it or print it.

What is the dispute about?
What do you sell?

Required: don’t file without these

Strengthens the case

Argue it in this order

  1. The cardholder agreed to recurring terms at checkout (terms version, timestamp, checkbox).
  2. A pre-renewal reminder was sent before the disputed charge, with a link to manage or cancel.
  3. No cancellation request was received before the renewal date.
  4. The renewal order was shipped and delivered, or the account was used after renewal.

You get one submission on Shopify Payments and Stripe. Gather everything first and submit before the due date.

How to use it

Pick the dispute type from the reason your processor shows, then what you sell, since digital and service businesses win on different records than physical ones. Tick items off as you collect them, and don’t file until the required ones are in hand.

The checklist is generated from the same playbooks Zevron files with, so it matches what a bank expects for that kind of dispute.

Then write the response

Lead with the strongest record, make one claim per sentence, and tie each claim to a lettered exhibit. See how to write a rebuttal and the reason-code guides for templates.

Questions

Can I add evidence after I submit?

No. On Shopify Payments and Stripe you get one submission per dispute, so gather everything first and submit before the due date.

What if I don’t have a required record?

Consider a refund instead. Filing without the required evidence usually loses and still costs the fee. See refund or fight.

Does it work for any processor?

The evidence is the same on any processor. Where it goes differs: see the guides for Shopify and Stripe.
